The planning application proposes a mixed use scheme to include 97 residential units, a Waitrose supermarket & café and a short term car park and residents parking.
The proposals have been drawn up in conjunction with tp bennett architects. Examples of other collaborations between St James and tp bennett can be found within
About St James.
The scheme consists of three distinct buildings, each of which shares a common palette of materials which have been drawn from local architecture. Extensive use of terraces and balconies provide the building with articulation, and the pattern of window & door openings adds variety to the different buildings.
Residential
- The three buildings span the majority of the length of the site. Buildings A & C extend to five storeys and building B extends to four storeys.
- Every apartment will benefit from an area of outside space, in addition to the two communal terraces on the first and fourth floors.
- Of the 97 units, 29 (30%) will be provided as affordable housing.
